Randomness

Becoming diabetic was a powerful reminder of just how random the world is, and how things can happen that you never saw coming, and that you don’t understand.  I think of that every time I look at my DexCom CGM, both because it reminds me of my condition, and because somehow, randomly, one of my hairs got stuck inside the screen, right by the numerical reading. I have no idea how that happened.

I had to wait a long time time at the pharmacy today to get my Humalog refilled, due to some confusion with my doctor.  It was, in some ways, very frustrating, but every time I checked my glucose, and saw that hair there, I had to chuckle.  Some things you can control, but a lot of things you just can’t, and if you spend too much time getting upset about the things you can’t control, you miss out on a lot of the good stuff you can.
